The Scottish based company Integriti has recently made some large investments to enhance their machining capabilities; one of such investments was a Mazak Slanturn 60 lathe.
Specialising in work for the offshore oil and gas sector the company is no stranger to machining exotic alloys such as Inconel 625 and 718.
During a recent review of their manufacturing methods, Operations Director Mr. Peter Currie invested in “Mircona Face Grooving Tooling” to machine BX grooves in Inconel 625 material.
“We used to use conventional tooling with a VBMT style of insert but it was extremely time consuming due to the small d.o.c that could be taken with that geometry”.
“We have always heralded “Mircona” as the specialist in Grooving” says Currie so after successful trials with their R152S style Face Grooving Toolholder “we now reduce the time taken on certain BX grooves by approximately 60minutes”.
